When an abnormality on a mammogram is seen on the film but you can’t feel it, a biopsy of the area may be needed.
A biopsy involves taking a sample of the tissue and looking at it under a microscope.
We offer you several types of breast biopsies at the Athens Regional Breast Health Center. All are provided in an intimate setting, with privacy and security.
Types of Biopsies
The technique used for your biopsy will be determined by your physician, depending on how the area is best seen.
If you have any questions about your procedure, email us or call one of the Breast Health Center nurses at 706-475-5977.
