The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Athens Regional Medical Center offers state-of-the-art digitally networked catheterization suites, which provide the highest quality imaging available.

The information these images provide is a vital component of caring for the patient, which begins with the cardiologist's assessment and proceeds through diagnostic heart catheterization, angioplasty and/or stenting, electrophysiology, ICD or permanent pacemaker insertion.

While many patients can be treated with angioplasty and/or stenting immediately following a diagnostic cath, we also work closely with the open heart surgery team when appropriate.
