Cardiac Rehabilitation

Piedmont Athens Regional offers a variety of cardiac rehabilitation opportunities for patients, including Phase I, II and III rehab.

This program provides structured services for individuals with heart disease or who've had a recent cardiac event such as heart attack, stent, or surgery (CABG, valve replacement). In addition to exercise programs, cardiac rehab typically includes baseline and follow-up patient assessments, aggressive strategies for reducing modifiable risk factors, comprehensive education for patients and their families, encouragement to adhere to prescribed drug therapy and psychosocial and vocational counseling.

The goal of cardiac rehab is to help you to return to your normal activities as soon as possible. Cardiac rehab is clinically proven to improve the patient's quality of life and to reduce recurrence of subsequent heart attacks and co-morbidities.
