Diabetes Education Services

Whether you’ve had diabetes for years or are newly diagnosed, we have a team at Athens Regional ready to help guide you and your family. Our Diabetes Education Services Department offers you a nationally recognized and certified diabetes management education program.

Recognized by the American Diabetes Association, our team offers a multidisciplinary approach to diabetes care. Our staff includes registered nurses and dietitians who work together to create unique care plans focused on each patient's needs.

Diabetes Education Programs and Support

Our Diabetes Education programs are for anyone facing diabetes, pre-diabetes, pregnancy diabetes or seeking a healthier lifestyle. Family members are invited.

Diabetes Self-Management Education
These individual and group classes teach people with diabetes and their family members how to manage their disease. Topics include meal planning, blood glucose monitoring, exercise, foot care, medications, preventing complications and stress management.

Putting It on the Plate
These cooking demonstrations cover healthy menu choices that tantalize the tastebuds.

Insulin Pump Training and Support
Diabetes Education Services provides education and support for those interested in learning more about the insulin pump.
