Is there anything I should know before applying?

Athens Regional has several positions requiring WorkReady/WorkKeys certification. Download more information about this certification. 

ARHS requires a valid, personal email address for the purpose of employment. Before an application can be completed, all candidates will be required to submit an email address. Do not use an email address that you share with one or more other persons. This email address will be used to confirm your application, as a way of follow up after your application is reviewed, to arrange interviews and for hiring purposes. If you do not have an email address there are sites where you can create one free of charge. Links are provided below. Please make a note of this email address, as you will need it to use status check feature of our application.

I applied from home, but when I went online to check my status, nothing was there.

  • Have you applied for the same job before? Our system matches Social Security numbers to job openings and will only allow you to apply for a job once.
  • Did it take you more than one hour to complete the application? The application times out after 45 minutes. Information not submitted in that time frame is not saved.
  • Are you using the correct email address? The email address listed on the application must be an exact match to the one being entered into status check.

How many positions can I apply for?

The HR policy states you can have two active applications.

How do I check the status of my application?

Under the VIEW LISTINGS and APPLY tab there is a tab called status check. By entering the email address listed on your application you will be able to check on the progress of your application.

How do I apply for other positions?

The application process is the same each time you wish to apply for a new position. Go to View Listings and Apply and complete an application for the position you are interested in.

How do I change my information?

Fresh applications are entered for each position you interested in. This is to insure we have the most accurate, up-to-date information on each candidate. 

My "status" shows my application is being reviewed by HR. How long will it take before I hear something?

HR reviews all applications. Top candidates are sent to the department. The department selects which candidates they want to interview. Candidates are notified by HR if they are selected for an interview. This may take weeks depending when the department makes their selection. Once an applicant has been offered a position, other candidates are notified through Status Check that the position is no longer available.

Why do I have to complete a new application when I have one on file?

This ensures the most up-to-date information is sent to the department. 

My computer said your site is not secure. What should I do?

Our site is secure. The security warning you see is a way for you to determine if our site meets your criteria for security. Because you are sending us confidential and private information, we ask that you read our safety certifications to determine if they satisfy your requirements.

I don't have a computer at home. How can I apply?

You can apply from any computer with Internet access. Computers are available in our Human Resources lobby from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. They are also available at the Department of Labor and at the library.

I've applied for several positions but never had an interview. Why?

Competition is fierce. Athens Regional receives hundreds of applications for every entry-level position. In the first year of our electronic application system, we received more than 50,000 applications.

We encourage applicants to:

  • Complete the application in its entirety.
  • Make sure your information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Make sure you are qualified for the job you are applying for.
  • Be sure you are able to work the hours required for the position.

How do I attach a resume?

Resumes are only accepted at the time of an interview.
