Book your mammogram.Scheduling Your Mammogram

Mammograms are available at the Breast Health Center:

  • 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    Mondays through Thursdays

  • 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

You can schedule your screening mammogram yourself or through your doctor's office but you need to have a doctor's order at the time of your exam. You must have at least one year between your screening mammograms.

Diagnostic mammograms and ultrasounds should be ordered by your doctor's office to make sure we get the clinical information we need.

We may contact you to schedule diagnostic appointments, as requested by your physician.

Preparing for Your Mammogram

  • Keep your menstrual cycle in mind when scheduling your appointment. The breasts are less sensitive to the compression a week to ten days post-menses.
  • Allow at least 30 minutes for your screening mammogram. Diagnostic exams will take longer since you get your results the same day.
  • A caffeine-free diet for several days before your mammogram will reduce breast tenderness.
  • Do not wear body powder or deodorant.
  • To make it easier to change clothes, wear two-piece clothing.
  • Arrive 15 minutes early for your appointment to register.
