A myelogram studies the spine and any abnormalities associated with the bones (vertebrae) or disks.

Myelograms may be conducted by your doctor or the radiologist.

On the day of your procedure, enter the hospital through the Talmadge Tower Entrance on Talmadge Drive and register at the Talmadge Tower Registration desk. You will then be directed to the Ambulatory Treatment Center (ATC) for your procedure.

For the procedure, you will be asked to lie on a table and your doctor or the radiologist will inject contrast in the spaces between your vertebrae.

You will then be brought over to the CT scanner, which will determine any abnormalities in your spine.

After the procedure, patients are sometimes sore at the injection site, but can continue with their usual routine.
