Our experienced and compassionate Pediatric team at Piedmont Athens Regional is devoted to caring for your child and your family. We provide emergency pediatric services as well as specialty pediatric care for cardiology, gastroenterology, neurosurgery, and pulmonary medicine. We also offer the only pediatric hospitalist program in the region.
When your child is a patient with us, you will receive the best in family-centered care. We know children get better faster when their loved ones are with them. Meals are provided for the parent staying with the child. Siblings are welcome to visit during regular visiting hours -- noon to 8:30 p.m. A beautiful playroom is available 24 hours a day and is often staffed with volunteers. We also offer a library of books and kid-friendly videos.
Pediatric Outpatient Services, or POPS, is on the third floor of Piedmont Athens Regional's Talmadge Tower, in the Pediatrics Department. Services include nursing observation and treatment for up to a 12-hour stay and are available 24-hours a day, seven days a week. The five-bed unit specializes in non-emergency outpatient care and treatment of children under 17 years old, as well as women in the first 20 weeks of pregnancy.

Chad’s Bracket Wagons
Thanks to a generous donation, our Pediatrics Unit offers Radio Flyer wagons equipped with IV poles -- called Chad's Bracket -- to help give children a special way to get around while in our care. Tony and Angie Collins of Woodstock, GA, along with Chad’s Bracket creator, Roger Leggett, gave us this gift for young patients to use.
