Acupuncture
Published medical research, including reports from the World Health Organization and the National Institutes of Health, demonstrate acupuncture is an effective adjunct therapy for a wide variety of conditions.
"Acupuncture has substantially lower incidence of adverse side effects than that of many drugs or other accepted medical procedures used for the same conditions." - NIH, Consensus Statement JAMA Vol 280 No.17 Nov. 4, 1998.
Under the leadership of William D. Skelton, D. Ac., our acupuncture services adopt this ancient system of traditional Chinese medicine as a modern, painless treatment. According to Dr. Skelton, "Acupuncture is a safe and effective way to treat conditions as a complement to traditional medical therapy. We always seek to work with your healthcare provider and will do our best to help you."
Conditions that can be helped by acupuncture include:
- Chronic pain
- Sciatica
- Tendonitis
- Muscle pain
- Arthritis
- Shingles symptoms
- Stroke symptoms
- Irritable Bowel
- Neuropathy
- Tobacco cessation
- Fatigue
- Infertility
- Headache, including migraine
- PMS
- Neck and back pain
- Infertility
- TMJ
- Anxiety
- Fibromyalgia Syndrome
- Nausea
Are you concerned about the needles? Acupuncture needles are very thin, and very rarely, if ever, hurt. All acupuncture needles are new, used only once, and disposed of in a hospital sharps box.
