Athens Regional Medical Center is committed to improving quality of life and offers cancer support groups to help people at any stage of their cancer journey. All groups are held at the Loran Smith Center for Cancer Support or the Griffin-DuBose Healing Lodge.

Support Groups for Guidance

Brain Tumor Support and Education Group
First Tuesday of every month: 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Breast Cancer Support Group
Second Thursday of every month: 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
For women who are newly diagnosed, in treatment or have completed treatment.

Chronic Illness Support Group
Second Tuesday of each month: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Open to anyone with a chronic condition.

Facing Cancer with Love and Laughter
Third Wednesday of each month: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This group meets once a month for patients with a any cancer diagnoisis, their family and friends.

Gynecologic Cancer Support Group
Second Tuesday of each month: 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
For women managing a diagnosis of any gynecologic cancer including ovarian, cervical and endometrial/uterine cancers.

Ostomy Support Group
Second Sunday of each month: 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
A support group for people with an ostomy.

Prostate Cancer Support Group
Second Thursday of each month: 7 p.m.
This group is an educational format to support men with prostate cancer. Spouses are welcome.
