Cancer Support Groups
Athens Regional Medical Center is committed to improving quality of life and offers cancer support groups to help people at any stage of their cancer journey. All groups are held at the Loran Smith Center for Cancer Support or the Griffin-DuBose Healing Lodge.

Cancer Support Groups for Guidance
Brain Tumor Support and Education Group
First Tuesday of every month: 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
People diagnosed with brain tumors and their caregivers are invited to a multidisciplinary support and education program to meet with other families, ask questions of medical professionals, and receive support in living with brain cancer.
Breast Cancer Support Group
Second Thursday of every month: 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
For women who are newly diagnosed, in treatment or have completed treatment.
Facing Cancer with Love and Laughter
Third Wednesday of each month: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This group meets once a month for patients with a any cancer diagnosis, their family and friends.
Gynecologic Cancer Support Group
Second Tuesday of each month: 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
For women managing a diagnosis of any gynecologic cancer including ovarian, cervical and endometrial/uterine cancers.
Ostomy Support Group
Second Sunday of each month: 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
A support group for people with an ostomy.
Prostate Cancer Support Group
First Thursday of each month: 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
A confidential setting for men to discuss prostate cancer treatment, side-effects, and survivorship.
Us TOO Prostate Cancer Education and Support Program
Second Thursday of each month: 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
This group is open to prostate cancer patients including those newly diagnosed, in treatment, or those who have completed treatment. Spouses and/or adult caregivers may attend.
