Mother-Baby FAQ

What are the hours and policies for visiting new moms and babies?

Anyone who is not sick may visit during suggested visiting hours of 7 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. A significant other or support person may stay overnight and must wear an identification bracelet that matches the mother and baby's bracelets. No one under the age of 14 is permitted without an adult caregiver. For safety and security reasons, all visitors will be checked in before being allowed in the unit. Please keep in mind postpartum quiet time is from& 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

What should I bring to the hospital?

You'll want to pack for the delivery, mom, mom's support person and the baby. See a list of recommended items.

When should I choose a pediatrician?

The majority of pediatricians in our area require you to meet with them prior to your delivery. You should have your pediatrician selected before your due date. For a current list of physicians accepting new patients, call the Parent/Child Community Educator at 706-475-5622.

Will someone install my infant car seat?

The safest directions for car seat installation are those from the manufacturer. For safety, infants will be not be allowed to be discharged if you do not have a car seat installed. ARMC does not provide a car seat for you.

Will baby pictures be taken at ARMC?

ARMC offers professional photography services through Bella Baby Photography. When you're on the Mother-Baby Unit, Bella Baby staff will visit your room to discuss the photography services. You'll be asked to sign a consent form and pictures will be taken before you and baby are discharged. Please note that Bella Baby suggests you pack a special baby blanket or afghan as well as a shirt or cami in solid black, gray or brown. These items will help enhance the photos.
