Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Of the 2,500 annual deliveries at Piedmont Athens Regional, 10 percent are premature babies who require extra attention and medical treatment. We're proud to offer your family that care.

The Department of Community Health (DHC) granted approval for Piedmont Athens Regional to become a Level III neonatal intensive care service provider. It makes us the first and only Level III NICU in our 17-county service area.

We have a neonatologist on call 24-hours a day and our experienced nurses are at every Caesarean delivery and any birth with complications. An exceptional RN staff offers you compassionate and experienced nursing care to meet the needs of your family.
