Athens Regional Health System

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Nobody wants to think about a newborn's health in trouble. But when the unexpected happens, it's comforting to know you're in good hands.

A neonatologist (a doctor who specializes in the care of infants) is on call 24-hours a day, and our experienced nurses are at every Caesarean delivery and any birth with complications.

Of the 2,500 annual deliveries at Athens Regional, 10 percent are premature babies, requiring extra attention and medical treatment. An exceptional RN staff provides around-the-clock intensive nursing care to these babies. You can count on these nurses to treat your baby and provide loving, personal care to meet the needs of the entire family.

Meet some of the patients and their families and hear them talk about their experiences at ARMC.
